Traditional ways of pricing CPG brands don't go as far as they used to, and Ray Jones (Managing Director at DHC) is urging suppliers and supermarkets to deliver the value proposition consumers want by focusing on "the shopper experience." The value proposition is determined today by relevance to individual shoppers. Give them something targeted to their needs. Do dynamic marketing with promotions and prices based on their purchase history and other insights," Jones says, in a recent article in CPG Matters.
